Hieronder de email die ik gisteren verstuurde daaromtrent (in het Engels) Cleaning fee - To my surprise, there was an extra cleaning fee of €10,- charged. This was never mentioned on the voucher and came as a surprise o On the voucher, a list of topics that were excluded from the rental; such as topics related to insurance, fines, toll, young drivers,... but no cleaning fee. - To me this is an incorrect charge and should be credited. I made a reservation for a car in the class "Economy" (Renault Clio) but the Dacia I received was in my opinion more car belonging to the class "mini". The rental car itself was a full electric Dacia Spring, which I didn't ask for. - There was no manual with the car, so I had to go back to the desk asking how to open the lid to charge the car (the button was very hidden) Autonomy and charging - I had to drive to Nazaré, which is about 120 km away from Lisbon. o The autonomy was max 200 km, so in theory I could make it. - I asked for a cable that would allow me to charge the car at home. That would comfort me because I'm not familiar with the locations of the charging possibilities in Portugal. o That cable was not available for a Dacia Spring (a car I didn't ask for) - At the desk they assured me that on every service station at the highway there is a charging facility o This turned out to be untrue. Between Lisbon an Nazaré there is the only station where it is possible is in Torres Vedras about 50 km from Nazaré. So not usable from Nazaré. - At the desk they showed me a map with a service station with loading facility for electric cars o There seemed to be a station GALP at N242 Km 32,200, 2450-000 Nazaré, Portugal o I checked it out, but there was no charging facility at all o The responsible lady was very helpful, told me there were 3 charging stations installed at a parking in Nazaré but they were not operational yet. - So there I was o A car with a battery that was charged for 35% (autonomy of approx. 60 km) o No idea where to charge o No domestic cable. o Obviously, I needed to charge the car immediately in case I wanted to make some short trips. o Fortunately a neighbour had an electric car and I could borrow the domestic cable to charge the car at my expense In summary - I received a smaller car - Received an electric car which I didn't ask for - I got charged for a cleaning fee that was nowhere mentioned - No domestic cable for charging - No charging facilities in the neighbourhood. - Incorrect information with respect to charging facilities. As I went back to the desk twice, I noticed that other customers got a similar Dacia Spring; so I suspect Hertz made a deal with Dacia to promote that car. I admit (and support) that electric cars can be useful for people staying around Lisbon (I expect there will be more facilities for charging), not for the kind of trips I had to make As said, I regularly go to Lisbon ( 2-3 times per year – last year less for obvious reasons), but I doubt that Hertz will be my preferred rental company. Looking forward to your reaction, "
